About us

Finding an available driving instructor can be a real struggle. You search Google Maps, look through lots of different websites, and ring round schools, only to hear they're fully booked. Drivepal is here to make that easier.

We list 4,000+ driving schools and 11,000+ instructors across the UK. Send us one enquiry and we'll pass it to instructors near you, one at a time, until someone can take you on. You can start by finding driving lessons near you.

If you're a driving instructor or run a driving school, we can send you new pupils. When a learner near you is looking for lessons, we'll email you about them and you can choose whether to take them on.

Most of our listings come from public information, like Google Maps and instructors' own websites. If you'd like your details updated or removed, just email us and we'll sort it.

We also look at the official figures on driving tests, like pass rates and waiting times at each test centre, and write them up in our reports.

Every figure comes from published data or Freedom of Information requests we've made, and each report says where it's from. If you spot something wrong, please let us know and we'll fix it.

We're independent and not connected to DVSA. You book and manage your driving test on GOV.UK.

I learnt to drive at 27, and really struggled to find an instructor with availability. I rang school after school, and almost all of them were fully booked, so in the end I'd contacted around 40 instructors before I found one who could take me on. I couldn't believe there wasn't an easier way to find a driving instructor, so a year after passing my test, in 2025, I started Drivepal.

I'm based in London, and before Drivepal I worked in operations, then software development, then product management at another startup.
